Free music, XM, Serius, Yahoo
When I study I tend to get the most out of my time when I listen to music. I find background noise like talking very distracting. However, if I listen to music I seem to focus better. Plus if I listen to something upbeat while working on math, I grind though things a little better.
Here are some places to go for tunes online.
Yahoo is great because it is completly free. You can access a ton of great stations, plus you can create your own with your preferences for those with ecclectic taste it gives you control over the variety you hear. The down side is having to listen to occasional advertisements, and wait for buffering.
XM is my favorite music to listen to online. It offers a better mix of music with each of it’s stations compared to yahoo. If you already have a XM radio subscription, then you can listen online for free. However, if not you do have to pay. But the cost is very affordable. Also if you have windows Vista, you can download an XM radio gadget from windows that will play XM from your desktop.
I know that Serius radio has an online option. However, I prefer XM. I think it has better talk radio (Like Opie and Anthony) Serius has Howard Stern, but I don’t really like him.
