Histology for Biology…. Hey that rhymes!
For anyone trying to learn Human Anatomy and Physiology this site is an excellent resource. It was created by Karen Hart at peninsula college for her biology students. She took the time to post pictures of all the slides she uses in the class. It has great labeled images of epithelium cells, bone tissue, connective tissue, cross sections of epipyseal plates, sebaceous glands, nerve cells, lymph nodes, cardiac muscle… It has so much available to help review for lab tests. So if you need to be able to identify cells check this out. It is free, and doesn’t require any logging in. Therefore you do not have to be a student at Peninsula College to use this resource.

Microbiology and Immunology
For those of you that are struggling with microbiology here is a great online tool for you. The university of Southern Carolina’s Medical school posted it’s full Microbiology and Immunology text book online in an e-book format. So if you are struggling in class or with your text, you may want to try a different explanation. This site also has more than 80 audio lectures streaming or down loadable, covering the major points of this class. I am also amazed it has everything in English, Spanish, Albanian and Portuguese.

Welcome to my blog!
My name is Corinne and I am a 28 year old nursing student at Peninsula College, in Washington. I applied to The Peninsula College School of Nursing in Spring of 2009 and was accepted into the Fall 2009 nursing program and like most students working through Nursing School it is a time really focus on being the best student and potential nurse you can be.
As with many adult students returning to college this is not my first career choice. I have worked as a book keeper and office assistant. However, I wanted to make a change after having my daughter (now two) and find something that I loved and could support myself doing. Nursing was a perfect fit.
In returning to school to complete my nursing prerequisites, I noticed several things. First there are an increasing number of adults returning to school and a lack of information available that addresses many of our needs. Second, Nursing school is extremely competitive and hard to get into even though the need for good nurses is through the roof. So this blog is primarily devoted to nursing students but may be helpful to any student really. Occasionally I throw in tidbits about politics and nutrition.
