scrapbook ‘books’ for preschoolers
A great way to help your preschooler learn letters and numbers is to help them make their own books. In order to make this easiest on yourself collect a few old magazines and newspapers. Cut out large letters together, and a few objects that begin with the letter. So for B, find a B or draw one and cut out a picture of a baby. Let your child create a scrapbook page for each letter. There are so many ways to be creative with this! The possibilities are endless. You can die cut the alphabet, add stickers, sequence, ribbon, feathers, foil, and buttons.
When you are finished you can hole punch each page and use a small 3 ring binder, use a scrapbook with insertable pages, or take the creation to an office supply store and have it bound for a small fee.
Your preschooler will love looking at the book you created together! Plus, if you pick a letter a day to work on, your child will take this opportunity to learn the alphabet or numbers. This is a great activity for ‘hands on’ learners.
